My husband was on the phone today, arguing with a man who owe’s our company some money. The man insists that he wants to be fair and he’ll take care of it, but it’s been months and nothings been done! So, they haggled and argued and finally came to a very grumpy agreement to pay. In getting ready to hang up the phone, my husband said to the unhappy delinquent customer, “and don’t forget to get your honey something for Valentines Day!” and hung up.
I wonder what he thought about that?
Happy Valentines Day! I hope you didn’t forget!

Just the name bothers me: by-laws. Don’t we have enough laws let alone have to sit around and come up with some more?
My feelings exactly….until it became aparent to me over the past couple of years how important it is to have set rules and regulations in certain circumstances. For example, in my writing critique group, we reviewed and revised our by-laws today. Without them, I have come to realize, we would have controlled chaos. Yes, controlled, but still chaos. Why have the hassle of that when you can sit down and come up with a few rules to follow that will eliminate the chaos altogether?
I’ve never been much for rules. They have always been for breaking as far as I’m concerned. But maturity and lifes complexities have brought me to understanding truth. We all function better with a plan, a set of rules and regulations to outline boundaries and expectations. With parameters in place, we forge ahead and manage to accomplish great things!
I guess our by-laws are kind of like goal setting; a necessity if you’re ever going to get anthing done!
Have a good night!

In the beginning….what beginning shall I start with? We all need to begin somewhere, so I will begin with implementing a sence of purpose. Without it, we have nothingness by the pool. Not much of an existance if you think about it. My purpose today was to give a testimony about my faith that would cause people to think about God, about the possibility that there is something worth investigating there. I believe I was successful! My other purpose was to go to the gym and lose fifteen pounds. I went to the gym, feeling purposeful, but didn’t manage to lose fifteen pounds. I’ll keep at it. In the mean time, I’m healthier for the effort!
I have a writers group annual business meeting tomorrow. We usually spend this one day a year arguing over how to word the by-laws! Can’t wait! I’ll let you know how it goes!
